making rounded fence pickets

Two weeks after planting the fence posts, we pulled in an actual skilled carpenter and made a bunch of rounded-top fence pickets.

STEP 1 - Cut the picket to length.

STEP 2 - Trace the curve and cut the dog-ear at one end.

STEP 3 - Sand to a smooth curve.

Stacked pickets at the end of the day.

Clay and Ronni spent 6 hours or so yesterday getting the materials for and then constructing 168 round-top fence pickets. The star of the day by far was the RIGID oscillating edge belt / spindle sander.
