refinished floors
In what was the last hurdle to actually being able to live downstairs, the floors downstairs have been de-painted, unsplintered, sanded, and refinished. And they are bee-yoo-tee-full!
The change is as impressive as when we had the upstairs floors done, with the added oomph of having lived and worked here for a few years this time around. We've seen these rooms covered in plaster debris, invaded by racoons and feral cats, and just sitting dusty & empty & half-finished for so long. We'll start moving downstairs this weekend, if anyone want to help move a few books..
The front room, as seen through where two walls used to be. (a similar angle from back in August)
Floor with small dog.
The future dining room (seen here freshly sanded).

Wow! What a transformation! I bet you are pumped. Thanks for the inspiration to me to get mine done. I'd like to come over and help move books but....have to work on the house.

I'm very happy for you but at the same time green with envy. The floors are beautiful!

They're awesome! And not a stick of trim!! ;)
Sorry, dog but you're gonna have to hand over yer toenails.

yeah, trim will be a spring or summer thing.
And can you see the concern in the dog's eyes? He really does not like the smell of the floor finish.

Looks great! The progress and success should give you both a feeling of great accomplishment and pride! Just in time for Thanksgiving, too! When does the DR table get positioned? ;>)
