bookswap (mouse and tools)

A recent swap with has landed us what looks to be an amazingly useful book.

frederick the mouse dreams of powertools

I recently sent a beautiful book about a mouse to my poet&carpenter friend. In response, he sent a copy of the Reader's Digest New Complete Do-It-Yourself Manual. This looks like the book that should be gifted to every new homeowner, especially new owners of old houses.

In this day and age of great online resources, I still love a book. Books bring an order and tactile experience to the process of learning that reinforces the underlying fact that the house is fucked up in the real world and needs to be fixed and no website or amount of blogging or cutting and pasting will get that leak fixed or the termite damage dealt with.
