A Kitchen!

We moved in here on Oct.13. Since then, we have been eating cold sandwhiches, microwaved food, and take-out because we had no kitchen to speak of. The kitchens (yes, plural)(as a former duplex) were nasty rooms with disgusting appliances and just had to be completely torn out. This has been a 4+ month process that, while not complete, is to a point where everything else that remains is essentially decorative. We can now cook and eat food in our house like normal people do.

an old photo of a house almost exactly like ours

When the city assessor came out in October to set the value of the house for the Real Estate Tax Abatement Program, we noticed that he had an old file with him. This file had an abundance of info about the house, including an older, undated photo and assessment info going back to 1956.
