A Kitchen in Progress
As was previously described, the kitchen used to be a gross room.
"At some point in the recesses of time, the bottom half of the walls had been covered in wood paneling and then painted chalky white. Over the years, the space behind the panelling had become home to many roaches that lived, loved, and died there. The brown streaks that you can see in the pictures to the right are residue from the roaches. This is, of course, gross. Ronni swept up many many dry crunchy carcasses (think 'peanut skins')."
Now, though, the room is so very close to ready. We are only waiting for our counter to be delivered. We've laid tile, put in a stove and fridge, and assembled and hung cabinets. There is running water in our cool new sink.
This is exciting! Sometime next week will put the groceries away on shelves and in drawers. I will be able to cook a meal. We will be able to dishes in the sink instead of the bath tub.
