making the porch more beautiful

A simple idea that we’ve talked about for a long time and finally put together: getting some kind of curtains on the upstairs back porch. Our view definitely benefits from a soft gauzy overlay…

Holy crap! At first I thought that was an image from a magazine - something you guys were thinking about doing. That’s beautiful!

The 4th (unseen) photo in the series shows the box of caulk and the cat vomit. I’d read the magazine that’d run that one…

The porch is more than beautiful. It is an open statement that someone in your home is blessed with an innate talent for original thought, design, and placement.

This looks awesome. I wish my back upstairs porch had a ceiling :) Did you make the curtains?

Awesome porch, and awesome home. Just stumbled onto your blog through RVABlogs. My wife Sherry and I undertook an update (I don’t dare give us enough credit to say “restoration”) of a 50-year old brick ranch in Bon Air and are blogging about it here: http://www.thisyounghouse.com.

Sherry made the suggestion for curtains in our sunroom a few months ago and I was skeptical, but they ended up looking great and making a big difference. Glad you saw similar success!
