almost a wall
We began working on the retaining wall out back a few weeks ago. We made real progress this weekend but we’re still not finished. My fingers are scraped raw, my back is starting to get tight and I think I sunburned my face. It feels like summer.

We’re still about 20 blocks short of completing the wall across what used to be the parking area. The slopy part of the yard is walled off and we’ve started levelling out the dirt (the dirt that is mostly freakin’ clay)(And as much as I’ve grown to hate the stuff, it is funny that we *paid* to have more clay brought to our house. Fuck red clay in any situation where I have to be near it with a shovel…) that was delivered.
If all goes as best as possible, this might all be finished by the weekend. Ha!

I’ll say it again DAMN THE CLAY!
wait a minit: “WE” made real progress?
also, with all that clay where will the ducks swim??
That clay is nasty, hard, manual labor with a shovel. No fun at all!! Lookin’ good though. Good luck with the project!
are you kidding me? you guys did all that??!! It took us all weekend to get the posts (6 of them)in for our fence. Good for you guys. it looks great.
