the first siding of the season
This summer WE WILL get the house painted. Having finished pulling shingles, we now have to fix some of the aged siding.

a bit of quick metal glider rehab
A while back, I grabbed an old glider that someone had discarded at the dump. With a quick spraypaint makeover, it is ok again (though it doesn’t glide, really).

pink is the new ghetto brick
We’ve put up 2 pink patches on the recently beautified section of the back wall of the house so that we can start nailing down the color for the house

plus/minus one cat
Soon after we got the house, a litter of kittens was born in the crawlspace. Being fixed and fed, a few have stuck around and even attracted other wayward cats. We seem to have a new one this summer…

After finally being able to find the right shade of pink, we put the first coat on the partially-resided back wall of the house.

rain
We were supposed to start working around the corner from last week’s wall, but the weather isn’t cooperating. We did manage to get some of the siding pulled and replaced in a few dry hours, but not nearly what was on the schedule.

a grubby hallway is reborn
Like a grittier version of one of those makeover shows, we’ve been spending time beautifying some of the spaces in the house that we won’t be able to really get to for a while.

actually it was a raccoon
The dog barked suspiciously. Going downstairs to investigate revealed a distinctly raccoon ass disappearing up into part of the unfinished wall…
