It’s freakin’ 12 degrees right now and our hot water isn’t working. Most of our cold water taps aren’t working either. This is one of the reasons that I’d moved to New Orleans* all those years ago.

some insulation

We’ve been insulating the downstairs recently. This isn’t very exciting, but has been rewarding as the walls start to look more like walls. Also, it was a year ago today that we closed on the house.

We recently paid other people to do things for us that we could not do ourselves. While they did great work, the worrying about the final product and the money spent and just having so many people in and out of the house stressed us out.

the last extra wall

We pulled down another wall this weekend. This was was the last of the walls that had been added when the house was rudely duplexed back in the day, and was something that we’d been looking forward to getting down for a while. Company was coming over, so we figured that this might be a fun activity to share - how often does the opportunity to knock out a wall come up for most people?
