book #1 - Charles C. Mann's 1491
Inspired in part the president's alleged accomplishments, I've decided to try and record every book that I read this year.
This first book that I finished this year was the last that I started last year. For Christmas, I received a hardback copy of Charles C. Mann's 1491. This is a non-fiction reevaluation of the history and development of North and South America prior to the arrival of Columbus. There is a related article, 1491, from the March 2002, Atlantic, that gives a good idea of the tone, content, and readability of the book.
