27 mile ride
I rode out into Eastern Henrico yesterday, nominally looking for a battlefield. I didn’t make it as far as that, though I did ride through a fort from the same time frame.
Varina was idyllic yesterday. I saw turtles sunning themselves, bunnies, goats, and chickens, and very few other people or cars. This is a great place to ride to put down some miles.
I got lost for a little while, adding maybe 7 miles to the ride. I thought to myself that for the next ride I really ought to bring a map, and then I remembered that my phone does maps and I felt a little stupid.
After all of that I didn’t have the juice to make back up onto Church Hill, I had to call Ronni to come rescue me.
